Any chance of a link to that map? I've actually just got one of these & the fueling is not great. Has a K&N & the Polish Dominator brand cans.
I prefer the KTM
Where did you get that black metal exhaust guard? I have the same one and my back one is missing, just like yours. All I can find are stock ones or carbon, which I don't want
Really nice customization. I would like to mount this windshield too, which one should I buy? Thanks
Looks amazing in white 🤔🤔🤔 about that re-map, how can I go about doing the same to the one I've got?
How's the reliability on the LC8? I own a 2008 690 SMR right now and I'm thinking about switching for something more practical and also faster as a side effect :D
These, including my 2012 are pretty much bulletproof
Just bought one, 2010 really looks good but the clutch rattles at low rpm..... Do you have similar sounds from the clutch ? I worry a bit....
@@supportfairing yes it rattles a bit. If you pull in the clutch lever does it quiet down?
No, pulling in also makes it rattle.... will take the cover off and take a look, could be clutch booster too much play. Thanks for your replay
…….my 2012 does that, has since I bought it
One of the best bikes I ever had but no good for 2 up touring so had to change it for something bigger.
@@lesjames598 haven’t tried riding with a pillion, so I’ll take your word for it. What did you upgrade to?
@@guitarhawaii A KTM Super Adventure T with the 30 litre tank. Now on a Multistrada 1260S and starting to look for my next one.
@@lesjames598 I'm considering a 1290 SAT as well. Looks like a great bike. Never owned a Ducati, but they look fantastic!
God bless the 0.0000001 % of people seeing this comment
kisluxbag I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
is riding the suzuki drz400 actually allowed in the roads of seoul bro?
i had a 2010 smcwhich also leaked fuel at the gas cap especially when you're wide open throttle. LOL. I sold that 2010 to buy a 790 Duke. I kid you not that thing bored me after 6 months despite having 50 more HP. Sold the 790 and went back to a 690. Now im on a 15' 690 enduro with sumo wheels it doesn't leak fuel at the cap. :) I think it's worth updating the fuel cap parts to the next generation parts.
Hard to beat a 690 for pure fun on a bike!
What screen are you running?
I bought it so long ago, so I don't know the brand. It was for a 690smc, but I used a heat gun to make it fit the 990. Works great so far.
Thanks for the reply, it looks great
Screen looks sweet really smartend up that front
I have a 2011 ABS model for about a year as well, I've done around 8000 KM on it, long rides - it took me over a Balkan Tour with several countries, it's a jack of all trades type of machine - I really enjoy the grunt, it feels like a diesel powered tractor - easy to wheelie and fool around but certainly didn't had a problem carrying me and a passanger for very long rides (500-600km / day) with baggages and all that. The only thing I would like for it to have is more top speed as mine tops out at around 200KM/h - but it gets there fast enough to put a grin on your face everytime! Certainly not a beginner bike, it's my 5th KTM, had a few EXC supermotos and 690 SM's as well - riding for almost 20 years now. I would like to trade the 990 for a 1290 but probably I'll keep this one for another year or two as I really enjoy it! Greetings from Bucharest, Romania!
Salut, Apreciez review-ul oferit mai sus. Sunt interesat de acest model. Aș fi curios să aflu care ar fi consumul real l/100km în funcție de stilul de condus? Mersi anticipat.
@@sinetx Yes, how you ride will affect your fuel consumption. Fast = poor fuel consumption.
외국분이 서울 남산에서 케템 리뷰하는 신기한 영상
Some helpfull info there. Much appriciated.
They should bring this bike back to market
890 SMT is loads of fun, but the LC8 has so much character. Maybe KTM will redesign the V-Twin?
I really like this bike. I think it looks great! Good video 👍
Cheers, it's a great all-rounder.
I have the '13 XCW. . .pretty much kitted out just like yours. I have the 4 gal Acerbis tank though, and a rekluse clutch. Love that bike! Best light DS I've ever had. . .cant imagine anything better tbh. Great on tough trails too.
For sure. I sold this bike a few months ago since I wasn't riding enough to justify keeping it. Definitely one of the top DS bikes, even by today's standards.
What a weapon. Would love a 500 EXC as my next bike after the dizzer.
It's a great bike!
What kit did you use?
Namura 434 BBK with a JE piston. E base gasket, stage 2 hotcams.
What bar bend did you choose for the pro taper bars? I like the exact one that you have but do not know the name
Pro Taper Contour Carmichael Bend
@@guitarhawaiiin the vid weren’t they Cr highs?
@@danielwanetick6093 you're right, thanks for the correction. The details of the bike are at 4:34 of the video
Hello, how are you, do you have a question? I have a drz 400 sm 2008 with Big bore with wiseco piston and JT cylinder, kibblewhite valves and new springs but I need new cams.
Which would be better to gain more power and durability to the engine, the HOTCAM stage 1 or 2?
@@NormanSalazar-pi4do Stage 1 for more off-road riding, Stage 2 for more road riding. AFAIK stage 1 gives more low-end torque and stage 2 gives more top end. You could just get some E-cams, that are similar to stage 1. Any cams you use shouldn't affect durability. Have fun!
@@guitarhawaii Thanks for the help. I use the bike more on the road, but I have a ratio of 15:42. Would it be better to lower the rear sprocket?
@@NormanSalazar-pi4do that ratio sounds fine. I was using 15:39 because I was going on longer rides at higher speeds.
That's Nice
Well, I’m definitely a fan now.
I think I heard a tiny bit of drunk Rush in there.
I’m becoming a fan.
I arrived here by accident. I am digging this. I might just become a fan.
Más videos de esta moto x favor q sea explicando si modo de manejo y como saber q hacer para cuidala más
That's the way I would break it in to. Breaking in the way you're going to ride. Haha pure hooligan!
That's basically how they break-in brand new engines at the factory. Gotta seat the piston rings properly!
Bike looks sick n sound great 👍 👌🤙🏾
Thanks!
hello to you what was your setup on the FCR carburettor main jet idle jet and the type of your needle thank you very much have a nice end of the day
The specs are at 4:34 in the video.
Hey there I have a question how often do you have to change the oil
Same as a stock DRZ, I did it every 3k km or so. The bike ran perfectly while I owned it.
This is one of the better DRZ's I have seen I can tell just by eye the difference in top end on your bike. Good job and nice sleek look as well.
Cheers!
Love this vid! I got my DRZ with the bbk but with stock carb and cams. Really wanna get the FCR now. Then stg 2 hotcams eventually.
Do it!
@@guitarhawaii Did it!
nice ride! what is that odometer???
Thanks, stock gauges.
What size tires were you running in this vid
120 front 150 rear if I recall correctly. The rear rim is 4.25 wide, so putting a 150 on it has a better turn-in feel than the wider 160.
Wow u have it all in this bike, what is the topspeed you get?
With that gearing it will hit 100mph ish.

Man ya, I’m picking a 21 up in 2 days. Brand new!! Cant wait ! Good video, that looked fun
I bought one this year. Are you still riding yours?
@@CoffeeAndBusiness You bet. I ride it almost daily. Great bike. No regrats
Sold this one awhile back to try something different. I drank the orange kool-aid and now I'm hooked. KTMs are pretty hard to beat if you like flogging bikes.
What's your tyre size? Front and back
What's the handguards?
Nice DR. Motards are fun to ride. I have an SXV5.5 and love it.
Are u in japan?
This bike is beautiful. It sounds just like mine. Makes mine look stock ugly. Thanks for showing
About as legit of a drz400SM as I've seen. 434 killin it bro
it’s beautiful
when should I change my top end ? I have a 2012 drz 400s it has 11500 miles on it but still runs strong .
Never haha. If the bike is running fine leave it alone. If it becomes hard to start you might want to check the valve clearances. Otherwise just ride it. The DRZ head is very well designed.
@@guitarhawaii Sometimes it takes a couple cranks to start after it's been warmed up and then sits for a half hr or so , but if it sits all night it cranks right over .
@@dave32228 I think that's normal. That's why some carbs have a hot start choke.
that pipe tho !!
